Here is a summary of everything you need to know about this service.
 
What is the East India Express?
A premium delivery service in partnership with the Oriental Club.  It is designed for a minimum of two people and offers two options - the East India Curry & the East India Western experience. The dishes are freshly pre-prepared by the Chefs at the Oriental Club and leave flash-frozen in special temperature controlled boxes to ensure they arrive in perfect conditions and at a safe temperature, below 8°C.  All dishes can be either cooked in the microwave or pan fried. Cooking instructions, use by dates and all ingredients are enclosed in the packaging.

What does the East India Western Express offer?
The East India Western Express offers a Seasonal Soup with Mini Sourdough Baguettes and choice of three main dishes - Chicken Chasseur & Pilaf Rice, Beef Cheek Bourguignon & Celeriac Potato Mash or Jerusalem Artichoke Risotto. What does the East India Curry Express offer?
The East India Curry Express offers a choice of two Curries, Basmati Rice, Dal and Naan Bread. A Selection of Indian Street Food is also available. The East India Curry Express selection is completely Gluten Free, apart from the Naan Bread - click here for the full menu and ingredients.

Is it possible to send the East India Express to friends and family as a gift?
You may send the East India Express as a gift. Please simply include their name and address when placing the order.

Is it possible to freeze the dishes?
The dishes have been flash-frozen prior to dispatch - please do not re-freeze.
 
How long can the dishes be stored in the fridge for?
All items have a shelf life of a minimum of 3 - 4 days when kept in the fridge. Please refer to the use by date clearly stated on the packaging.
 
Where do you deliver to?
Anywhere in the UK Mainland. Please note that for some postcodes the delivery may take up to two days: please see reference map below, Zone A is next day delivery and Zone B is two days delivery. Please contact the Oriental Club at clubsales@orientalclub.org.uk for further details and full list of postcodes with corresponding delivery time.

When will I receive my order?
It is now possible to select your desired delivery day. You will be prompted to do so before checkout. Please note that we deliver Tuesday - Saturday (Tuesdays after Bank Holidays are not available). 

How much is the delivery?
For both East India Curry & Western Express the delivery cost of £3.50 applies. We recommend ordering for delivery a day in advance for special occasions to ensure you receive your order in good time.

What if I miss the first delivery attempt? Is the food still safe to eat?
If the first delivery attempt is not successful, DHL will deliver the order on the following working day. The package is designed to keep the contents at a same temperature below 8°C for more than 48 hours. If the temperature is above 8°C, please do not consume and contact the Oriental Club at clubsales@orientalclub.org.uk.
 
​Is it possible to select a specific delivery date?
Yes, it is now possible to select your desired delivery day. You will be prompted to do so before checkout. Please note that we deliver Tuesday - Saturday (Tuesdays after Bank Holidays are not excluded). 

 
Is the packaging recyclable?
The cardboard is made of 95% recycled materials. Our packaging sleeves and plastic pouches are widely recyclable (please check the recycling guidance from your local authority for more information). The cool packs are incredibly durable and may be re-used or discarded.
